Spicy Peanut Chili Crunch

Makes 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 1 6-ounce jar of Thai & True Hot Chili Oil
  • ¼ cup neutral oil
  • 7 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1 small shallot, thinly sliced
  • 3 scallions, white part only, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup dry roasted peanuts, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat the Thai & True Hot Chili Oil and neutral oil in a non-stick or stainless steel pan over medium heat.
  2. When the chilis begin to sizzle, add the garlic, shallot, scallions, sugar, and sea salt. Turn the heat to medium-low and gently simmer the ingredients for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. When done, the garlic and shallot will be light golden in color. Turn off the heat.
  3. Add the finely chopped peanuts and toasted sesame seeds to the pan and stir to combine.
  4. Allow the spicy peanut chili crunch to cool to room temperature before storing in an air-tight container in the fridge.
