Yellow Curry Turkey Burgers

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of 93% lean ground turkey
  • 3 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Thai & True Yellow Curry Paste 1⁄4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1⁄4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt
  • Avocado oil, for cooking 

For the sauce

  • 1⁄2 cup plain greek yogurt 1 tablespoon lime juice 1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt

To serve

  • Butter lettuce or little gem lettuce 4 brioche buns
  • 1⁄2 red onion, sliced 

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic, Thai & True Yellow Curry Paste, red onion, fresh cilantro and sea salt. Use a gloved hand to thoroughly mix the seasonings into the turkey.

  2. Divide the ground turkey mixture into four pieces and roll them into balls. Flatten the balls to about 1⁄2-inch thick patties.

  3. Pour 2 teaspoons of avocado oil into a non-stick or cast iron skillet and warm over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, place the first turkey patty into the skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, until browned. The safe temperature for ground meat is 165F degrees. Repeat with the remaining patties.

  4. To make the sauce, combine the greek yogurt, lime juice and sea salt in a bowl and mix well.

  5. To serve, place the turkey burgers on brioche buns with lettuce, red onion and sauce. Serve with your favorite side.
